Former X Factor star and I’m A Celebrity campmate Jake Quickenden has revealed that he proposed to girlfriend Sophie Church on holiday and she said yes!
Jake Quickenden has announced his engagement to girlfriend Sophie Church.
The former X Factor star, 32, took to social media on Saturday to confirm he had proposed to his girlfriend while on holiday in Rhodes, Greece.
The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! contestant shared an image of himself and Sophie kissing beside the blue ocean on their break.
Jake penned on Instagram: “She said yes.”
He also added: “The love of my life the mother to my beautiful Leo and Freddie, I love you so much… this isn’t a drill it’s actually happening.”
His friend and Love Island 2017 star Chris Hughes commented on the post: “Well done both, great job”.
Jake’s pal Adam Frimsby commented: “Ahhh congrats guys! I actually am still unsure if you’re being serious knowing you [laughing emois] but if you are [raised hands emojis]”
Love Island 2018 star Eyal Brooker commented: “Amazing. Huge congrats”.
Jake’s fellow X Factor alum Fleur East penned: “Wooooo!!!! Congratulations!!!”
Meanwhile, Georgia Box wrote: “Congratulations you two!!! So happy for you both”.
The news comes after Jake recently told The Mirror how the birth of the couple’s son Leo had helped him with his grief for his late father and brother to cancer.
Jake also said of his son: “I would never want to stop him doing anything to express who he is or what he identifies as. I don’t just want to take him boxing and to the footie with the boys – I want to be there to help him find out who he is and what he loves to do.
“He could be gay or he could live his life as a piece of broccoli and I wouldn’t care so long as it made him happy.
“It would be the same if he identified as trans or anything else. I honestly would not care. Not at all.”
He continued: “Obviously, it is hard to think about these things because he’s so young.
“But I love him and I just want to support him in every decision he makes. That is all that’s important.”
Jake noted: “Losing my dad and brother was obviously the worst thing to happen to me but I’ve always tried to find the positives.”
The 2018 Dancing On Ice winner has certainly found another reason to be more positive with this happy news!
Congratulations to the happy couple!
