Heart of Minnesota Animal Center – Remi

Meet Remi!!!

She is a very happy, energetic dog. She’s great with kids and other dogs, and loves to swim, and play in a sprinkler. Remi loves car rides and walks, and is a very smart dog, who knows all of the basic commands: sit, laydown, shake. She is housebroken, and has never had an accident in her foster home.

Remi is very loyal and cuddly. She will gladly take a spot on your lap or next to you. She would prefer to be with someone or other dogs at all times. She does have a little trouble not playing too rough with cats, and is very prey driven, so a home without small animals may be best.

Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue –  Bobbin

You probably didn’t wake up this morning thinking you’d meet the world record holder for Best Cuddles, but here you are. It’s nice to meet you! I’m Bobbin, and I’m looking for my forever family. It must be you because you look like you have a really nice lap to lay on. I would know! I’m a little shy at first, but once you get to know me I will shower you in love. I’ll even give you kitty hugs by wrapping my paws around you!

Giving you all my love is my main goal, but I wouldn’t say no if you also wanted to play with me. I will make a game out of any toy – I’m not picky! I love my cat tree and scratching posts and I am an expert litter box user. Are you impressed yet? If you think you’d like to meet me, you can contact Ruff Start Rescue and/or visit me at The Cafe Meow in Minneapolis.

Bobbin is a 9-pound, 3-year-old Domestic Short Hair male cat. For more information on Bobbin and how to adopt, visit

Hawk Creek Animal Shelter – Mr Spaghetti

This boy is very sweet and a fast favorite, he does have some skin issues, and could benefit from eating a raw diet, we currently have him on Lamb & Rice to try and help. He is not ok with cats and a little leery of other dogs. We definitely need a meet and greet with your dog.

Find us on Facebook to be updated on events and shelter news! All animals up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative (if age appropriate), up to date on vaccinations (a booster may be needed), given flea and tick preventative, given heartworm preventative, dewormed, and treated for anything necessary: such as dental cleanings, ear infections, etc. Please visit our website for more information about Mr Spaghetti or any of aour adoptable pets.

Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) – Sonny

Hi, I’m Sonny!

Are you a runner? Sonny would make a GREAT running partner. He LOVES his people, loves to cuddle
and get belly rubs and loves to play. His perfect little 35 pound body makes for a great lap dog. Sonny is
a very sweet boy that is extremely active and needs a lot of exercise or room to play. He would fit great in
an active home with children 8 and up…he’s a busy body!

Sonny is learning to use good manners. He is very treat motivated and with some good training and
consistency he is learning not to jump on people with excitement. He sleeps in a kennel all night with a
good bone and a treat.

He is cat curious and will chase them, but would do fine with a dog savvy cat. We are looking for a
committed family that will give the time and training this sweet boy needs.

Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) – Hazel

Sweet Hazel is a 2-year old, 55 pound pit bull x who loves being outside and playing with her toys. She is an active gal, who will need a home that will help her burn off some energy. She loves to be around people and doesn’t seem to be fazed by the dogs walking past her kennel.

You can view her adoption profile online at, call the shelter for more info at (218) 829-4141, or visit her in person at 15494 Dellwood Drive, Brainerd MN 56401 from 11 am- 4:30 pm.

Tri-County Animal Shelter – Kuda

This is a big dog with an even bigger heart! Kuda is a 3-year-old spayed St. Bernard mix who has to be the only dog, although she’s done well with young children, cats, and small animals in the past. Kuda is very cautious around new people and strangers and needs a family who will be patient and very slow with her. Once she warms up, she’s a Velcro dog who loves to be by your side (and in your lap!). Due to the fact she takes extra time to warm up to new people, a potential adopter should plan to visit her a few times before judging her personality. We recommend Kuda attend obedience classes with her new family to build a bond of trust and help her socialize.

Underdog Pet Rescue of MN – Gail

Gail was welcomed up from Texas a few weeks back and she is now ready for her Forever Home! She does not need another dog in her Forever Home, but she is good with dogs of all sizes. She has a high prey drive, so cats likely aren’t a good fit. She does require a fenced in yard as she is still working on leash training. She is thought to be a Collie and Aussie mix who is about a year old and 30 pounds. Gail loves chewing on bones, eating treats, playing with squeaky toys, fetch, and running through the sprinkler. She is doing well with her crate and potty training and is a smart, food motivated girl who cannot wait to learn new things!

Pet Haven of Minnesota – Charlotte

We would love to introduce you to Charlotte, a 1 ½ year old, 80-pound Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd mix who is house-trained, and who is currently working on crate-training. She LOVES other dogs and cats, and would do well with older, dog-savvy kids.

Charlotte is a fun, happy pup who needs a family that can provide her with ample love, attention, and structure. This smiley girl is very silly and will endlessly entertain her new family with antics. Not only is Charlotte incredibly sweet with cats and puppies, but she also prefers their toys, despite her size. She loves stealing the toys from the resident cats and can entertain herself for hours. She loves cuddles, playing with other dogs, and kittens and puppies! She does not love quick / aggressive movements, being lifted, or being left alone. Charlotte would do best in a home that has people working from home, or otherwise home most of the time. She has some separation anxiety and tends to let it out by gnawing on whatever she can find. She does okay with short periods of time in her crate (less than two hours).

She wears her heart on her ears and you can always tell how she is feeling by how she is holding them. Straight up is the most common, which means she is happy and content! She is very easily excited and will show off her amazing vertical leaps when she just cannot contain it anymore! She also has energy plus and needs ample time each day dedicated to walks, runs around the yard, and playing. She will need a fully fenced yard with securely latching gates as she has been able to open some gates and slip through small gaps.
